EL DESCONTROL

A tricky one. It started off great, but the summer turned weird — unusually cool with strong west winds. That slowed down ripening and in some areas, it just didn't fully get there. Acidity dropped a bit toward the end, but the wines came out with a lot of finesse and elegance.

Pretty solid vintage. Consistent weather with no major issues led to wines of very good quality. Definitely one to stash a few bottles from — it's a keeper.

Tough vintage. Several heat waves hit right when the grapes were at pea-size, causing the vines to go into vegetative shutdown. It was a struggle, but the vines bounced back in the end, and those who had the patience managed to pull off a decent harvest.
Co-fermentation of mostly Moscatel Romano and Tintilla de Rota on their skins in stainless steel tanks. Crashed together to ferment, then left to rest in tank for six months.
The first vintage of this wine happened by accident, after way too many harvest days in a row with barely any sleep. The press wasn't full, so I had to throw in whatever I had on hand to get enough pressure to press the skins properly. Ended up with more juice than expected and just tossed it into a tank without a lid — then completely forgot about it. Two months later, after coming back from harvest in Italy, I found magic. A thick layer of flor had formed, the wine was protected, and honestly... it tasted pretty damn good, haha. So I moved it to a closed stainless tank and eventually got talked into bottling it. What started as a total mess turned into a wild blend I'm genuinely obsessed with — and now I intentionally make it every year. Yup, what was once a mistake is now a tradition hehe
